Putting Testing Systems in a Box

Flexibility and adaptability are essential prerequisites for many testing solutions today. Demands for wireless solutions have grown, designed into load cells, transmitters, and digital instrumentation. The capacities and capabilities of measurement solutions today have also led to new approaches in testing force and torque, providing engineers and testing pros the ability to take entire test systems out of the lab and into live environments. Read more here.

Solutions for Mobile Testing Systems

WIRELESS AND BLUETOOTH TELEMETRY SYSTEMS – Interface has a complete line of wireless sensor transmitters, receivers, and displays. The WTS and BTS products offer high accuracy, high-quality measurements that offer simple yet powerful configuration and monitoring software in building a complete mobile testing system. To learn more, download our WTS and BTS Overview here.

INTERESTING FACT! Any load cell made by Interface can be configured to be wireless by attaching a wireless acquisition module such as our WTS-AM-1E Wireless Strain Bridge Transmitter Module. This means that our capacity for wireless load cells, load pins, shackles, and tension links goes up to 3,000,000 lbf capacity.

WIRELESS LOAD CELLS – The popular WTS 1200 Standard Precision LowProfile® Wireless Load Cell comes in capacities from 300 to 100K lbf (1.5 to 450 kN). It utilizes Interface proprietary temperature compensated strain gages and is compensated for eccentric loads. This load cell has a 2.4 GHZ transceiver and can transmit distances up to 2000 feet (610 meters) to various base stations, including a USB version and a handheld display.

WIRELESS TENSION LINKS – The versatile WTSTL Wireless Tension Link Load Cell can transmit wirelessly up to 600 meters in distance. Standard capacities range from 11K lbf to 220K lbf (5 to 100 metric tons), and there are also options for custom versions and larger capacities available upon request.

INSTRUMENTATION – The 9320 Battery Powered Portable Load Cell Indicator is a bipolar 7-digit handheld meter featuring two independently scalable ranges, peak and valley monitoring, display hold, mV/V calibration, and a power save feature. Typical battery life exceeds 45 hours of continuous use and 450 in low power mode. For wireless digital displays, the WTS-LD2 provides the user with a large format six-digit display capable of displaying values or the summed value of
up to eight modules.

Don’t Forget the Couplings

For every force test, there is typically a piece of equipment designed to deal with misaligned loads. Couplings are a critical component to be used alongside a torque transducer to ensure the isolation of torque loads. They are used for all torque installations, rotary or reaction. A coupling is a mechanical element that connects two shafts together to accurately transmit the power from the drive side to the driven side while absorbing the mounting error of misalignment of the two shafts. Essentially, they allow and compensate for misalignment in a torque test.

There are two main categories of couplings, single-jointed and double-jointed, used in force measurement; the biggest difference between the two is the degree of freedom needed for the application. Couplings are one of the topics we discuss in our online webinar, New Twist on Torque. If you are buying a torque transducer, be sure to inquire about the type of couplings you need for your test. Read more here.

What Did Our Customers Tell Us?

It is important for Interface to listen and learn from our customers. It’s what helps us continuously improve and find new solutions to meet the growing demands for innovative products. Twice a year, we formalize this feedback process through our semi-annual Customer Satisfaction and Net Promoter Score Survey. This year, we asked why people buy from Interface. We learned quality is by far the top reason. This is followed by the accuracy of specifications, our expertise and experience, along with calibration and repair services. We gather direct feedback from our customers on how we are doing. In the latest survey, we are proud to announce that our NPS rating for Spring 2021 is +73. This rating is based on the question, “How likely are you to recommend Interface to a friend or colleague?” Go here to read more about the survey results, our score, and what’s most important based on our customer’s feedback.
