Moment 101
Interface's 101 Series defines moment as the measure of a force's tendency to cause rotational movement, bending, or tilting when applied at a distance from a fixed point or axis. In force measurement, moment is the physical displacement or rotation that occurs when an unbalanced force acts on an object, and measuring moment in multi-axis sensors provides critical data for a variety of industry applications. Examining Round and Square Multi-Axis Sensors
Two common shapes for Interface multi-axis load cells are round and square. Square multi-axis load cells have a cuboid or block-like shape. This geometry often simplifies mounting and alignment. Round multi-axis load cells have a cylindrical or disc-like shape. This model design is a compact, low-profile form factor, which can be crucial in space-constrained applications. Interface 2-axis, 3-axis, 6-axis, and axial torsion load cells deliver high-accuracy measurements for advanced requirements of more data than a single-axis load cell.

3-Axis Load Cells 101
Interface 3-Axis Load Cells measure forces along three mutually perpendicular axes: X, Y, and Z. Interface offers 3-axis load cells with varying capacities, dimensions, and specifications to measure force and torque. The multi-axis sensors require no mathematical manipulation for standard 3-axis force measurements as each signal directly correlates to a specific measurement direction. These advanced load cells are used in aerospace, medical, automotive, automation, robotics, manufacturing and product testing applications.
