Summary of Differences
- Modern Compliance (RoHS)
- Automated Workflow (Remote Control)
The legacy CX was a purely manual “benchtop” tool—you had to turn the rotary knob to change the mV/V output physically. The E-CX offers a Remote Automation Controller option. This is a game-changer for high-volume labs; it allows a computer or PLC to automatically cycle the simulator through its steps, significantly speeding up calibration routines.
- Data Integrity (TEDS)
While some later versions of the CX had TEDS as an option, the E-CX highlights IEEE 1451.4 compliance as a core feature. This allows your data acquisition system to electronically read the simulator’s calibration data (sensitivity, serial number) directly from the chip, ensuring the instrument is perfectly scaled every time without manual entry.
