Force measurement solutions are used frequently in original product designs and components today due to the dependencies on force feedback during design, testing, prototyping and for monitoring performance of finished goods.

Interface load cells and torque transducers play a critical role through all phases of engineering and product design. Our sensors are preferred when qualifying product engineering plans, ensuring product safety, proving reliability, durability, and accuracy of new product releases.

Interface sensor technologies are chosen by product design engineers because of the precision, exactness, range of options, and quality.

Interface has been a long-time partner of product design engineers. Interface solutions are used throughout the entire product design process from qualification to product launch.

  • QUALIFY: Consult our application engineers on your requirements, including sensor specifications, features, capacity and use cases. This step is critical in safeguarding the right type of sensor is selected and aligns to any test plans. For help, CONTACT US.
  • DESIGN: We provide detailed datasheets and design files to assist in this phase. Every Interface product has specs and drawings available online. If you need help locating the design file, go here to submit your CAD REQUEST.
  • PROTOTYPE:  We can provide standard products off-the shelf or custom products, based on the design and specifications. We will partner with your team to get you the prototypes you need for validation. Visit REQUEST FOR QUOTE or CUSTOM SOLUTIONS REQUEST.
  • TESTING:  Designs are evaluated, and data is gathered to determine if the product can stand up to the solution requirements. Our sensors are often paired with Interface instrumentation and other products that are utilized in the lab to validate all the use cases and design specs. Visit our ONLINE CATALOG.
  • BUILD:  The last step that Interface can play a significant role is building sensors at scale that are embedded components. We often engineer and build unique parts for customer’s product designs. Contact our OEM SOLUTIONS experts.

Across industries, our products are utilized in all types of equipment, industrial solutions, and consumer products, large and small. Ready to talk about your next product design? Read more about the product design and engineering process and how we can help here.

INTERFACE SENSOR TECHNOLOGIES USED FOR MEDICAL INDUSTRY ROBOTS

For surgical robotics, minute forces need to be measured with exactitude. To measure these tiny forces, Interface offers a variety of Interface Mini™ Solutions, standard, modified and custom-made.  Interface Mini Load Cells are used for light touch, light weight, and when there is less space in the design or to maneuver. Our miniature load cells provide exceedingly accurate measurements like our full-size precision load cell. They are used by the medical industry for R&D, device testing and for OEM robot components.

Interface’s extensive line of miniature beam load cells, load cell load buttons, load washer, miniature tension force load cells, S-type load cells, and sealed stainless steel load cells are commonly used in the medical industry because of capacity, capability and specifications. Learn more about how our products are used in healthcare and precision surgical robotics here.

PARTNERING WITH VEHICLE MAKERS AND SUPPLIERS

Interface first supplied our pancake-style LowProfile Load Cells to the automotive industry more than five decades ago. Since then, we have expanded our product line to include specialized sensor models with tens of thousands of options and capacities, from miniaturized load buttons to
multi-axis sensors. Throughout the past half-century, Interface has continued to be a preferred partner to the auto and vehicle markets because we understand that quality and accuracy is essential to manufacturing and production of all types of vehicles. Interface force measurement devices are used for critical testing in both commercial and industrial vehicle design and production to ensure safety and reliability. Read more about auto industry solutions and testing use cases.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES IN SELECTING THE RIGHT INSTRUMENTATION

We recently launched our new Interface Instrumentation Selection Guide to help in pairing the right type and model of instrumentation to use with your chosen sensors. Interface offers a large range of instrumentation solutions including indicators, signal
conditioners, data acquisition systems, interface modules, as well as wireless, digital and Bluetooth products. With so many options, we have prepared an instrumentation definitions list that can assist in making the best decision regarding the type and model of instrumentation for your next project or to use in your lab. For a quick reference checklist and definitions, read more here.
