Stainless Steel Low Profile Compression Only Mount, Digital, and Environmentally Protected Weighing System

The WSSCLC stainless steel low-profile compression load cells act as the primary sensors, converting applied compressive forces into accurate electrical signals. These load cells are supported by the WSSCLC MOUNT weighing assemblies, which provide secure mechanical alignment, thermal compensation, and protection from off-axis loading for consistent, repeatable measurements. Outputs from multiple load cells are routed to the JB104SS four-channel stainless steel junction box, where signals are summed and trimmed into a single output. The consolidated signal is then processed and displayed by the 480 bidirectional weight indicator, delivering clear, real-time weight or force data for industrial applications.

The WSSCLC series of load cells has been designed for a wide range of force measurement and weighing applications where space is limited. The WSSCLC is constructed from stainless steel and has a fully welded construction, offering a high level of corrosion resistance for use in harsh environments, with environmental sealing to IP68.
Available in capacities from 220 – 16.5K lbf (100 – 7,500 kg) to 22K – 440.9K lbf (10 – 200 MT), there are many applications ideally suited to the WSSCLC, including restricted height weighing applications, general force measurement and press calibration.

WSSCLC-MOUNT Weighing Assembly

The WSSCLC-MOUNT is a complete weighing assembly for use with the WSSCLC range of load cells (see separate data sheet). The weighing assembly facilitates easy mounting for the engineer on site, and incorporates a number of key features that allows the best installed accuracy to be achieved. These include an anti-lift off mechanism, compensation for thermal expansion and for off-axis loading.
Manufactured from stainless steel, the WSSCLC-MOUNT is available in three sizes (assembly instructions are shown on the reverse of this data sheet). The unit is equipped with self load alignment to mitigate against positioning errors and deformation.

JB104SS 4-Channel Stainless Steel Junction Box

4 Channel Summing

Model JB104SS junction box is designed to connect and trim up to four load cells per board. It may also be used in combination with additional junction boxes through the use of the expansion port on the main board to connect multiple junction boxes. This will allow the summing of more than four load cells if needed. In its most basic form, this junction box provides a convenient method for wiring multiple load cells to a single indicator. Junction boxes are commonly used in weighing applications where a tank or scale is supported by more than one load cell. The individual load cell cables are wired into the junction box and then a single cable connects the junction box to the instrumentation.

The JB104SS is a small 4×6.5×1.75 inch stainless steel NEMA 4 rated box suitable for installations where space is limited. Standard configuration is for 2 to 4 load cells and provides a 20% trim range. Spring clips are used for the load cell connections.

Model 480 is bidirectional and comes in a NEMA 4X stainless enclosure. Standard options include 523,000 internal counts, 0.8 inch LED 6-digit display and a measurement rate that goes up to 40 Hz. Available options include analog and relay outputs.

System Level Calibration

Interface strongly recommends requesting a system-level calibration when purchasing a force measurement sensor with instrumentation. This final step ensures the sensor and instrumentation are properly calibrated and functioning together before leaving Interface.
