Solution

Waste Sorting

Inefficient sorting of recyclables in Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) leads to contamination of recycled materials. This reduces the quality of the recycled product and increases costs for reprocessors.

Summary

  • Customer Need / Challenge

Inefficient sorting of recyclables in Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) leads to contamination of recycled materials. This reduces the quality of the recycled product and increases costs for reprocessors. A weighing system is needed to weigh materials in real time as they move along the conveyor.

  • Interface Solution

Integrating Interface’s SSMF Fatigue Rated S-Type Load Cell measures and monitors the weight of the materials on the conveyor belt. When connected to the WTS-AM-1E Wireless Strain Bridge Transmitter Module, data is captured and wirelessly transmits the results to the customer’s computer using the WTS-BS-6 Wireless Telemetry Dongle Base Station.

  • Results

Interface’s SSMF Fatigue Rated S-Type Load Cell successfully measured and monitored the weight of the materials along the MRF conveyor belts.

Materials

  • SSMF Fatigue Rated S-Type Load Cells
  • WTS-AM-1E Wireless Strain Bridge Transmitter Module
  • WTS-BS-6 Wireless Telemetry Dongle Base Station
  • Log100 Software
  • Customer PC or Laptop

How it Works

  1. SSMF Fatigue Rated S-Type Load Cells are integrated into the sorting conveyor belt. Each are connected to a WTS-AM-1E Wireless Strain Bridge Transmitter Module.
  2. As recycled product is added to the belt, the SSMF’s weigh the products and results wirelessly transmitted by the WTS-AM-1E to the customer’s PC through the WTS-BS-6 Wireless Telemetry Dongle Base Station with supplied Log100 software.
