Concrete Pile Static Load Test
A customer wans to ensure that their concrete piles can safely support different loads. A controlled static load test must be done to verify the concrete pile’s bearing capacity and behavior.

Interface Solution
Interface suggests placing the 1101 Compression-Only Ultra Precision LowProfile Load Cell in between the hydraulic jack system and the pile head. The jack will increase and expand in increments, applying to the dead load. The 1101 will measure each increment of load applied, and record the results on the customer’s computer when connected to the BX8-HD44 BlueDAQ Series Data Acquisition System.
Results
Interface’s suggested compression load cell and instrumentation successfully measured and verified the concrete pile’s capacity and integrity.

How it Works
The concrete pile is constructed, and a hydraulic jack is set up on the pile head.
Steel beams are set up above the hydraulic jacks in preparation of the heavy load. The 1101 Compression-Only Ultra Precision LowProfile Load Cell is placed between the pile head and jack system.
A dead load is placed on the beam system. The hydraulic jack bears the pile, and expands incrementally to apply load to the pile.
The 1101 measures each increment of load applied. When connected to the BX8-HD44 BlueDAQ Series Data Acquisition System with supplied BlueDAQ Software, data can be logged, graphed, and recorded when connected to the customer’s PC.
