The Interface AxialTQ™ torque measurement system was developed in direct collaboration with over 30 end-users who shared their wish lists for operational priorities, user interface, design, features, real-world field issues and more. AxialTQ™ torque measurement system redefines the category in terms of function, accuracy and customizable compatibility. The rotor sensing element and electronics are the heart of the system which will be offered in 8 torque capacities in 5 DIN sizes. With the flexible capability of stator and output module mounting, the AxialTQ™ system offers an infinite number of configurations to meet any application need.

AxialTQ In-Line Magnetic Encoder Kit

Encoder

The AxialTQ Rotary In-Line Magnetic Encoder converts rotational motion of the rotor to a quadrature electrical signal.  The system uses a magnetic pulse wheel that is installed with the rotor and a sensing head mounted next to the stator. The sensor detects the changing magnetic field and uses interpolation to increase the resolution.  The standard resolutions are between 800 and 1792 pulses per revolution, depending on the DIN size.  Encoder kits come standard with an index pulse for determining relative position.

The preferred installation is with single-flex style couplings on either side of the rotor. Alternatively one side of the rotor can be hard-mounted with a double-flex style coupling on the other side. Care should be taken to minimize misalignment thereby reducing bending loads into the sensor.
