AxialTQ In-Line Magnetic Encoder Kit

Encoder

The AxialTQ Rotary In-Line Magnetic Encoder converts rotational motion of the rotor to a quadrature electrical signal.  The system uses a magnetic pulse wheel that is installed with the rotor and a sensing head mounted next to the stator. The sensor detects the changing magnetic field and uses interpolation to increase the resolution.  The standard resolutions are between 800 and 1792 pulses per revolution, depending on the DIN size.  Encoder kits come standard with an index pulse for determining relative position.

The preferred installation is with single-flex style couplings on either side of the rotor. Alternatively one side of the rotor can be hard-mounted with a double-flex style coupling on the other side. Care should be taken to minimize misalignment thereby reducing bending loads into the sensor.
