INTERFACE DISPLAYS

Interface displays directly represent measured parameters, allowing users to quickly spot trends, identify anomalies, and make informed decisions without relying on cumbersome post-processing or complex software analysis. Our review, Clarity in Measurement Requires a Clear Display of Accurate Results gives a full rundown of our displays.

WTS-LD1 Wireless Large LED Display – The Wireless Large LED Display offers a large-format four-digit display that shows individual WTS transmitting values or the summed value of up to eight modules. The large screen features a 4-digit module with a 102 mm (4 in) LED display. Mounting options include ceiling suspension or wall mounting.

WTS-LD2 Wireless Large LED Display – The Wireless Large LED Display LD2 provides the same features as the WTS-LD1 Display, with a large six-digit format that shows individual WTS transmitter values or the total value from up to eight modules.

Examples of Interface Instrumentation Displays

9812 Panel Mount Display for Single mV/V Transducer
9812-WTS Wireless Panel Mount Display for Single Transmitters

CONNECTORS 101

If you are using a cable with your sensor, you invariably need a connector. Most Interface sensors and instrumentation devices utilize cables terminated with connectors to establish a reliable electrical signal pathway.  The connectors found on the measurement device, such as those with load cells, torque transducers, and multi-axis sensors, typically feature a plug connector (often referred to as a male connector). This plug is designed to mate securely with the instrumentation device’s corresponding receptacle connector (female connector).

TIP: Use our Interface Sensor Interconnect Cable Assemblies Guide based on the sensor models. Also, please refer to our review of essential cables and connectors. When selecting a cable for your test and measurement application, consider the connector type at both ends to ensure compatibility and optimal performance. For more information, refer to our online electrical wiring and diagrams reference.

THE IMPORTANCE OF OVERLOAD DETECTION AND PROTECTION

What are the key considerations surrounding overload protection, how does it function, and why is it important? An overload occurs when the force exerted on a load cell surpasses its designated capacity limit. This seemingly simple act can trigger a cascade of detrimental effects, ranging from subtle inaccuracies in readings to permanent deformation and even catastrophic failure of the sensor.

Given the potential for damage and inaccuracies when consistently reaching the peak of a load cell capacity, overload detection and protection mechanisms are crucial for ensuring the longevity, reliability, and safety of force measurement systems. Discover how Interface load cells incorporate innovative features to reduce the risks associated with overloading. Read: Key Considerations for Overload Protection in Load Cells to learn more.

INSTALLATION TIPS: LOWPROFILE LOAD CELLS FOR TENSION MEASUREMENT

Interface LowProfile Load Cell models 1000, 1100, 1200, and 3200 series are engineered for high-accuracy tension measurement applications. Proper installation is paramount to achieving the most accurate and reliable results. In our post “Proper Installation of LowProfile Load Cells Ensures Accurate Tension Measurements, ” we provide further details about these tips and typical tension applications and include a supporting installation video.

Here are five quick installation tips:

Flat and Rigid Mounting: This is the non-negotiable foundation for accurate readings.
Axial Force Alignment: Ensure the tension force acts directly along the axis of the load cell.
Secure Mounting: Properly tighten the load cell to the mounting structure.
Capacity-Specific Torque: Follow the correct tightening procedures for the jam nut, especially the no-torque rule for higher capacities.
Sequential Installation: Follow the steps outlined for the rod end bearing and clevis attachment.
