When Accuracy is Important, Beware of Inferior Copycat Products.

We're proud of our innovation. Our load cells are 100% US-designed and manufactured, and Interface is 100% US-owned. But the real answer to the question, "Why Interface?" is the quality and accuracy of the products themselves.

Torque Transducers

Whether you need torque transducers for rotary torque, axial torsion or reaction torque, you don't have to be an expert in torque measurement, because we are. Talk to us about what sort of torque you need to measure, and under what conditions and constraints. We'll walk you through the specification process, quickly and efficiently, and if we don't have what you need on the shelf, we'll be happy to customize an existing product or build a new one from scratch to meet your exacting requirements.

Interface offers both Reaction and Rotary style torque transducers. Reaction torque transducers are used to measure torque loads where the sensor doesn't have to rotate, or rotates through a limited number of rotations. Applications for reaction torque include motor or pump torque, valves, actuators, steering gears and gear reducers. Rotary torque transducers are used in applications where the torque transducer must rotate, such as when attached to a spinning shaft. A rotary torque transducer provides a method of getting the signal off of the rotating element without an attached cable.

Reaction Torque
Interface reaction torque transducers come in a wide variety of form factors including shaft, solid flange, hollow flange and flat types. Capacities range from small oz-in units all the way up to millions of lbf-in. Most of the reaction torque transducers have mV/V outputs but the solid flange type is optionally available with +5 VDC or 4-20 mA output.

Rotary Torque
Available models of rotary torque transducers include shaft and flange types in either 2X or 4X safe overload ratings. All of Interface's rotary torque transducers can be ordered with on-board signal conditioning providing +5 or +10 VDC output. A horsepower option provides further capability of separate voltage outputs proportional to torque, speed and horsepower.

Instrumentation
For reading torque signals the model 9850 is a digital indicator designed specifically for use with torque transducers. It features two channels plus a third "math" channel, 2000 Hz sample rate, selectable digital filters, peak and valley monitoring and load profiling. The math channel is user configurable and can be used to calculate power, pump head, flow or fluid power.
