Suspension Tuning & Adjustment

Interface 1000 Series Load Cells

Race Suspension Tuning

Suspension is an area where most racers look to make very minor adjustments to improve lap times. These adjustments can be complicated. Spring stiffness, dampening and rebound settings contribute to keeping the car on the road, while camber and caster adjustments can fine tune the car to driver preferences and conditions. Each track will require different settings to maximize performance.

These adjustments are studied each day on the track. Track data is loaded into a suspension dynomometer which can simulate a typical lap on any given track.

Since the 1980's, Interface has been providing load cells in use in NASCAR dynamometers. The next time you tune into a NASCAR race, know that Interface load cells had a part in making these cars go faster!

Suspension tuning and adjustment

  • Our Interface model 1200 Load Cell provides high accuracy (0.04%)
  • Moment compensation provides guaranteed performance where off axis loading is present
  • High sensitivity (4mV) provides a higher signal to noise ratio

Spring selection

  • The Interface Model 1000 Low Profile™ Load Cell provides a fatigue rating of 100 million fully reversible cycles
  • Moment compensation provides guaranteed performance where off axis loading is present
  • High sensitivity (4mV) provides a higher signal to noise ratio

Total vehicle weight

  • Model LBM load button
  • Simple installation due to ease of mounting and integral cable
  • JB104 Summing box provided a summed output for total vehicle weight
